Description

Building Strong Relationships Between Parents and Staff is a short professional development course focused on strengthening the partnership between schools and families, with the shared goal of supporting student success.

The training is based on the principle that effective collaboration between parents and education staff is essential to the school journey of children and adolescents. It offers participants practical communication strategies as well as a clear, actionable framework for involving parents in a professional, constructive, and supportive manner.

Throughout the course, participants are guided to build confidence in their interactions with parents and to adopt a solution-oriented approach that fosters trust, clarity, and cooperation.

More specifically, the course helps participants learn how to conduct effective meetings with parents, structure discussions professionally, and manage sensitive conversations more easily and with greater confidence.

It also addresses the need to support parents beyond the meeting itself, by helping them make informed decisions and implement effective strategies at home to better support their children's learning and development.

The course's practical content focuses on several key areas of competence: conducting constructive and productive meetings with parents, professionalizing communication between parents and the school, managing emotionally charged or difficult conversations, and guiding families in their role as educational partners.

The educational aim is clearly practical: the course equips participants with tools they can use directly in their daily professional practice when working on parent-school relationships, from routine communication to more delicate situations requiring mediation and tact.

By the end of the course, participants should have a better understanding of how to create constructive partnerships with families and contribute to a more collaborative educational environment centered on student success and well-being.
